Huge museum with lots of religious art and some art by Dutch masters. Some of the art by the Dutch masters is so great! Some of it is meh. Not crowded so you can definitely take your time. Nice big couches on the top floor to enjoy when you're done watching paintings. Glad to know they have discounts for students and for seniors!

A very bad experience with the elderly lady at the ticket counter. Super unwelcoming! Avoid if you can and go to the younger students. Because there are many options to see the museum, we asked her for some differences and suggestions because why would we have to read everything online!!! Stop with the robot system, we just want normal face to face advice. Mind you, there was nobody waiting in the line, she wasn’t in a rush. We had a student with us so we kindly checked if there was a discount as there normally is, but she immediately rejected us due to the age, we said OK no problem and she returned the student card annoyingly as if the money was coming from her pocket. The museum itself is veeeeeery basic. Would not recommend as top 5 things to visit.

This museum is not to be missed if you are visiting Brussels. I would recommend buying the combined ticket to this museum and Magritte museum online to avoid queues. The brochure outlines all the major works which is a good guideline but don't forget to explore on your own. The architecture of the building is notable

Worth a visit. We didn't use the audio guide. It probably helps to learn more about the painting. The internet was good inside, so I enjoyed reading up on the subjects at hand. Old paintings from the 1500's and later. One showed a village fair. I spotted characters in the background smoking a long pipe. This was painted in 1656 when smoking was still very new. I love exploring small details like that.

The Museum holds a huge collection of paintings. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours in here. Excellent place to get lost in exploring the works of the Old Masters. Plenty of seats to rest and admire the works too. Actually, walking to the museum is an experience in itself too!
