The staff did their best to make my experience great. I came back two times during my exhausting work week in Brussels. It might be more on the touristy side, but I absolutely enjoyed it.
This place is one of the best in Brussels - The food and service was amazing!! I couldn’t recommend the carbonnade flamande more, the meat is so soft and chips are definitely the Belgium double fried!! The terrace had a lively atmosphere right in the heart of Brussels. Overall, a top-quality experience.
Oh my goodness!! The staff, the decor, the vibe, the Belgian food-- it was all so great! I'm really glad we went here and were able to easily make reservations right on Google maps! And we were greated with the bear from the Golden Compass!! They had a 9-beer flight of Belgian beers (shaped in a NINE) and ended with their home brew! We had the chicken and mushrooms (vol-au-vent) and the beef stew (Carbonnade Flamande). Oh,! And the bathroom kinda looked like a (cool) dungeon!!
Warning: Tourist trap! The staff is very kind but it doesn’t make up for the fact the food is really not good + the red wine by the glass is also bad. We tried 2 mains and we didn’t finish either. Their selection of cheese is fine. This place is designed to get you in and out as soon as possible - it’s like a fancier fast food.
We came for lunch on Sat. It was a random choice for us and turned out to be a good choice. We ordered mussels. This was really good. In fact we ate other mussels in other places in Brussels, this is still the best. Highly recommended. We also prawn linguine which was fantastic. Chicken skewers - were chunky and chewy. Lastly, the sea bass - not bad. Great place for a meal.
