The carbonade a la biere was delicious with a beautiful sauce and paired nicely with creamy mashed potatoes. The lemon mint tea was a nice surprise, not too sweet and fresh mint. The Orval beer topped it all off nicely. Friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend but keep in mind they only accept cash. Fortunately we knew before hand.
Absolutely amazing experience at Fin de Siècle! The food was simply outstanding — authentic Belgian cuisine, generous portions, and every dish was packed with flavor. One of the best meals we’ve had in Brussels. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and full of character, making the whole experience even more special. A huge thank you to the team for the excellent food and hospitality. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Brussels! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Had a Most Wonderful meal & authentic Belgian cuisine experience after being ignored by another place. The Stewed Pork (usually served Beef) was soft, melts in one's mouthand went very well with the plain mashed potatoes ! The Pork Sausages were also Tasty and uniquely textured, not your usual (machined) Created versions. They Had textures, tastes and were cooked to perfection! 😋 Loved their retro-cash register and yes, they accept usual Cards for payments too ! 😂🥳😅 Thank you team ! 🙇♂️🙏🥳
Waiting time: 0 min reservation, dinner First dish: 4 min Food Details My first Belgian dish, and it was a great start. We ordered the spare ribs, lamb shank, and sausage with mashed potatoes. Everything was hearty, rustic, and full of comfort. The homemade-style sausage was very flavorful, with a meaty taste and nice herbs inside. The outside had a good browned texture, while the inside stayed juicy. The gravy was deep, savory, and tasty, especially with the mashed potatoes. The mash was creamy and soft, making the whole dish very comforting. The lamb shank was also great. It was a generous portion, almost like a turkey leg, with a nice salty flavor. The meat had that bold, rustic taste that matched the old-style restaurant atmosphere. The spare ribs were tender and tasty, covered with a tomato-based sauce. The sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and savory, and the meat came off the bone nicely. It came with a baked potato and salad, which balanced the richness of the ribs. Ambience & Atmosphere The restaurant is in an old building with an interior I really liked. It has a rustic, local, casual Belgian atmosphere. The menu is written on the board and wall, which gives the place a traditional and no-frills feeling. Service & Hospitality Staff were friendly and welcoming. There was no waiting time, and the first dish came in about 4 minutes, which was surprisingly fast. Value for Money The portions were generous, especially the lamb shank and ribs. For the quality, flavor, and amount of food, it felt like very good value. Unique / Standout Factor The standout point was the classic, hearty Belgian comfort-food feeling. Nothing was too fancy, but everything felt warm, rustic, and satisfying. The sausage with mashed potatoes and deep gravy was especially memorable. Practical Notes The menu is on the board and wall, so check there before ordering. This place is great for a casual meal, especially if you want generous portions and traditional-style food in an old-building atmosphere. Overall Fin de Siècle was a memorable first Belgian meal. Hearty food, friendly staff, fast service, and a rustic atmosphere made the experience very enjoyable.
A low key casual restaurant with a line out the door and down the street every night. That’s how you know it's good. We knew to get there before 6 or expect a wait. Everything was great and the selection on tap did not disappoint. Be prepared to pay cash!
