One of Brussels’ famous peeing attractions. I have to say that, out of all of them, this one is the cutest. The statue is easy to access, there are usually no crowds around it, and the sculpture itself is beautifully crafted.
Zinneke Pis is the unsung hero of the Brussels "peeing trio." Unlike his famous fountain siblings, this bronze stray dog is a simple, street-level statue lifting a leg against a bollard. It’s the perfect embodiment of "Zwanze"—the city's signature self-deprecating humor. No crowds, no fences, just a cheeky dog on a street corner. Representing the city's multicultural "mutt" identity. Situated in the trendy Dansaert district, perfect for a quick detour between coffee and shopping. Skip the Manneken Pis crowds; come here for the real Brussels soul.
It took a little exploring to find this and it is a little out the way, but had to complete the Pis Trifecta while I'm town. I probably should have spent my time seeing other landmarks but it was kind of cool to walk through the streets of Belgium and observe day to day city life, if nothing else. I'd certainly do it again if Google Maps had worked better, it showed 2 different locations for some reason.
Cannot beat a dog weeing on a post, just felt like a statue with a bit of life definitely preferred this to the mannekin pis. Loved how life like it felt made me chuckle thinking about my dog
Zinneke Pis was easy to find, even though it is located a bit further away — still well within walking distance from other spots in the city center. It’s definitely worth a visit, and the walk there is enjoyable too, with plenty to see along the way.
