🇧🇪 La Bistro Belgium ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Came here because of the reviews — and it absolutely lived up to the hype. A big thank you to Alan for the excellent service. Attentive, welcoming, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. The burger was perfectly done — soft, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell there’s attention to quality in the kitchen. The wine selection was also a great surprise. Well chosen, balanced, and paired perfectly with the food — it really elevated the overall experience. From service to food to atmosphere, everything was on point. Definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to.
We were staying at the nearby Raddison hotel at Brussels midi and the receptionist recommended Le Bistro. We made an on-line booking (good job very busy). When we arrived we were welcomed in a very friendly manner. The whole staff were very efficient, friendly and professional. The whole atmosphere was excellent loud but not too much so you could still talk. I had Mussels in a cream white wine and garlic sauce, they were excellent. My wife had the Salmon and said it was delicious. It was so good we returned the next night. I had the Flemish Beef stew which again was absolutely delicious. My wife had a Lasagne which again was spot on. The Grimberger brun beer was excellent. Alex and Costas couldn't have made us more welcome. On the second visit you were made to feel like a regular with very friendly hug and greeting. Alex was particularly friendly and helpful in his whole attitude. He made you feel more like a friend than a customer, the whole staff were exceptional and I would highly recommend Le Bistro.
Visited this Le Bistro recently and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. The dishes were flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care — every bite felt thoughtful and well-balanced. Guillaume was genuinely kind and attentive, making us feel welcome without being intrusive. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a quiet dinner date. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over good food and great conversation. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I’d gladly return to and recommend to others.
I'd like to be very fair in this review. I had read so many reviews raving about how nice the staff were and how good the food was. In this case, only one of those was true. We had to wait almost ten minutes to get noticed by our waiter and to get some menus. Our waiter was truly horrid. Very unpleasant, rude and impatient. Everyone else at the restaurant was soooo nice, except our waiter. It was very difficult to enjoy our meal after being treated so rudely by the waiter. It was just so hard to shake it off. The food was good but we just couldn't enjoy it. This kind of rudeness should not be acceptable, especially in a restaurant at this price point. I don't recommend you come here if you're a tourist. We spoke French and tried our best and still the waiter was rude and impatient.
As one tend to do we also wanted to eat mussels in Brussels and the nearest restaurant to our hotel was Le Bistro. This was an excellent luck-shot for multiple reasons. To begin with the restaurant looks like an old school British pub in both decorations and feel with a European vibe. Lots of laughter and discussions between patrons during our visit. The server, Alex, made things even better with his friendly and chatty way of serving us. We followed his suggestion of ordering mussels in white wine, garlic and cream. We were also served a side dish of pomme frites. The dish did not disappoint. Another restaurant I can recommend.
