Saw the great reviews and thought I was lucky to get a table without reservation on a Sat evening. It turned out that the food was typical tourist fare, boldly advertised on extra large menu sheets with photos against a red background. The food was also obviously brought from another restaurant across the street, which didn't have that high rating. Nevertheless, service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice. The washrooms, however, were in complete disarray. I recommend going elsewhere!
Asking myself how this can have a 4.4 stars. We were extremely disappointed and looking forward to get out of the as fast as possible. Long story short: bad quality food ( pre cooked from supermarket in some cases), offered a price reduction paying in cash (tax avoidance I imagine) and bad overall hygiene. If I develop the previous paragraph: Context: we were six and a baby. Went there around three o clock and the place was quite empty. First surprise: the servers and managers came from the restaurant in the other side of the road; promptly we understood it was the same kitchen. Quality food: we asked for onion soup, it looked premade in supermarket, with onions and bread added, missing cheese and the grilling. As general comment, the food was what was order but very much on the limit on being something different due to the low quantity of expressive ingredients or to the low quality of the food. I was expecting a lot better for the price. Regarding hygiene, when we arrived it seemed as if the napkins were already used and the floor was disgusting. The service was okay. I was disappointed when we wanted to pay, asked for credit card and the guy seemed bother. Soon after he offered a 10% reduction of we payed with cash instead. For this I go from two to one star. Specially disappointed for the price they charged for para with fried tomato. It was charged as normal linguini with seafood.
Staff was good. Food in general was good except the lobster. The mussels and the oysters were very good. Rabbit was good too. The pasta that came with the mussels/lobster dish was also good. However, the lobster, I don't recommend at all. Save your money. It was not cooked correctly, it was very chewy, tough, and had no flavor. Overall, because of the poor lobsters and the price point of both lobster and oysters, I considered it being a bit too expensive for the quality and the place was a bit drab. I think there are better places around that fit the same price point and similar offerings. My husband really enjoyed it all, except the lobster, so I guess if you drink enough it doesn't matter.
One of the many restaurants on that street. Decent place for decent food. The staff is funny. Nice ambiance for decent food.
Stay away. I booked this restaurant based on the good reviews. The first weird thing is that the restaurant which was originally in Rue des dominiques 3 (and according to google still is), is moved to Rue de Boucher. We went for dinner and were the whole evening the only customers in the restaurant, while most other restaurants around were very busy. The restaurant smelled humid and muff. The food was okayish, but price-quality not good. Hardly any choice for wine. Tea - only lipton black tea, etc etc. Definitely not worth 4.5 stars. Can not understand how they ever got this high amount of stars, or they changed management and cook.
